Complete Biography
Mark T. Howard is a Hawaii, North Shore, Oahu fine artist who brings joy by combining his talent and travel experiences into enchanting visions for all. Constantly exposed to new inspirations and techniques, Mark brings us brilliant new experiences with every artistic creation.
Growing up in Indian Harbor Beach, Florida, Mark’s father, a prosperous artist, gave Mark free reign over his art studio. In his youth, Mark began painting with acrylics and also excelled in surf competitions, carpentry work, creating surfboards, drafting and scholastic studies. Later on in life, Mark finished a twenty- two-year career in the United States Air Force in Hawaii and earned an MBA from Hawaii Pacific University.
After earning his MBA, Mark studied under premier surf artist, Steven Power on Oahu’s North Shore. Steven generously provided instruction on professional techniques, as well as guidance and encouragement.
In 2009 Mark illustrated the educational children’s sea turtle conservation book titled, Turtles Way A-Z; Loggy, Greeny and Leather. Written by conservationist and Florida surfer Mara Uman Hixon, the book went on to win the Moonbeam Children’s Book Award in 2010. These days Mark Howard resides in Waialua on Oahu’s North Shore in Hawaii and travels the world, riding perfect waves in the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans. He is currently working with acrylics and uses a variety of techniques.
